2 Wrestlers Place at NCAA Championships

We want to congratulate our clients who competed at the NCAA DI & DIII Championships this month.

NCAA Division III

Joe Ferinde- Johnson and Wales University- 6th Place. Joe, a sophmore from Nutley New Jersey, placed 6th at 133lbs. Joe follows in his brother, Mike Ferinde, footsteps becoming the second family member to reach All-American status for Johnson and Wales.

NCAA Division I

Anthony Ashnault, Rutgers, became the first 3X All-American in school history.

Troy Heilman- North Carolina University- Troy qualified for the NCAA Championships in St Louis. Troy is a two time NCAA qualifier, this year he qualified by taking second at the ACC Championships at 149lbs. In 2015 he qualified at 133lbs. This year he went 1-2 after a tough draw against the number 4 seed in the first round.

Anthony Ashnault- Rutgers University- Anthony became the first 3 time NCAA All-American with a 6th place finish at 141lbs. Ashnault reached the semi-finals for the second year in a row before falling in an extremely competitive match with eventual NCAA Champion Dean Heil.

Nick Gravina- Rutgers University- Nick reached the Rd. of 12 at 184lbs. Nick had a brutal draw falling to the three seed and eventual 4th place finisher, Sammy Brooks, in the first round. In the wrestle backs Nick was rolling strong until he came across the eventual 3rd place finisher. This was Nick’s second trip to the NCAA’s.
